Episode 1 - The Owner

A stranger nears Jerusalem and Miriam, a fruit merchant, lends him her donkey. Meanwhile Pontius Pilate arrives in town, if he knew what was coming he might have stayed home.

 

Episode 2 – The Moneychanger

The following day faith and finances collide as Jesus storms the temple, overturning tables and taking everyone, not least the moneychanger, by surprise.

 

Episode 3 – The Widow

Jesus returns to the temple and continues to cause controversy. Traps are set to catch him out but his attention is with the woman about to make a spectacular act of faith and generosity.

 

Episode 4 – The Betrayer

Judas is struggling, his relationship with Peter is beginning to come under strain and the Messiah he follows isn’t living up to his expectations. Suddenly he is presented with a new and exciting opportunity.

 

Episode 5 – The Governor

Pontius Pilate, Governor of Judea uses brute force and political pragmatism to control communities. But after arresting a man from Galilee, keeping order and finding inner peace, proves difficult.

 

Episode 6 – The Fisherman

Peter recounts his astonishing journey from fisherman to ‘fisher of men’ as a disciple of Jesus, whose arrest sends him into a tempestuous battle between faith and fear.

 

Episode 7 – The Mother

Mary struggles to believe in God as she watches her son die on the cross, enduring the extraordinary pain of suffering, loss and separation through feelings of grief, rage, doubt and despair.

 

Episode 8 – The Witness

John, a troubled disciple finds Jesus’ tomb empty. In his hunt to find the missing body he has an encounter that changes his life forever.
