Our Work

Since our story began in 1977, Riding Lights has created a wide range of work from new writing, to classic plays and entertaining childrens' theatre. Our work has travelled the world, taking our shows into schools, prisons, theatres, churches and community venues across the UK and beyond.

HIS LAST REPORT

 

In 2025 (a year which marked the centenary of the passing of Joseph Rowntree) His Last Report, a co-production with York Theatre Royal, about Rowntree's son Seebohn who wrote poverty reports about poverty in the UK in the 20s and the explores the parallels with poverty in modern day times. This production worked with 100 community actors, 70 choir members and dozens backstage crew and volunteers. NIGHT FALLS

 

Our Spring 2026 UK Tour passion play Night Falls reached over 4,000 people across 33 venues. Focusing on two characters before, during and after the Crucification, this fresh, dynamic retelling of the Easter story was set as a powerful new drama, featuring an original score from Nikki Crowley. The show opened at the Lowry in Salford before setting off on a 7-week across the UK tour into theatres, churches and community venues.
