My Place…somewhere to belong
written by Bridget Foreman

I miss a room of my own, stuff that is mine, my own mess…

Four young people with no place to call home. A young girl hitch-hikes through the night. A brother and sister fight to stay together. A teenager risks his life on a perilous sea crossing.

I miss knowing where I’m from…

Bounced between social workers and different homes, defined by immigration documents and court reports, mistrusted and mistreated, can they find somewhere to be themselves?

The remarkable journeys of these lively, resourceful children unfold through story and song, asking us to consider what place we might have in their lives.

My Place highlights the fact that we can all play a part in transforming the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
