…the power of words, the power of voice, the power
A great course for young people who want to develop their
performance skills. After several years of creating exciting ensemble
productions, taking an established play and staging it at the end of the
week (The Three Sisters 2008, Murder in the Cathedral 2009), this year
we plan to add a strong musical element and create an original piece of
theatre built around classics songs from existing shows. We will
combine our acting and singing talents to present a show based on our
theme for the week – POWER.
The course will give you an inside look at how musical theatre works: we will start with a series of workshops designed to develop a good choral sound within our ensemble, to explore each individual’s vocal range, preferred songs and styles and also to understand more about how to develop the acting, choreographic and staging skills that will be involved in our final ‘showcase’. There will also be an opportunity to work on songs that you have always wanted to perform. So whether you are an actor who sings a bit, or a singer who acts a bit, the course will be tailored to stretch you creatively and boost your confidence… but don’t sign up for this course if you are not prepared to have fun singing as well as acting!
