On Christmas Night follws the adventures of two shepherds - Wayne and Mabel - in Bethlehem for a quiet evening out after struggling with the Roman census forms. They soon become embroiled in the events of the very first Christmas as they try to find suitable accommodation for a young mum-to-be. Aided and abetted by Snowy (their redoubtable woolly accomplice), through a mixture of subterfuge, disguise and near disaster, they manage to outflank the opposition in the form of Corporal Brutus and other unsporting characters, and being the story to a happy conclusion. The three wise men complete the cast - adding their own touch of wry humour as they follow the star on its mysterious course. There's colour, fun and excitement - a Riding Lights blend of the comic and serious, plus a generous helping of Christmas song and dance.
